FranchiseLab in new hands
The company co-founded by Greg Nathan and Luis Nejo to expand the reach and application of the original Nathan Profiler franchise recruitment tool has been sold to Operandio
MELBOURNE, 2 February 2026 – Leading Australian franchise operations platform Operandio has today acquired FranchiseLab.
As part of the acquisition, FranchiseLab co-founder Greg Nathan will join the Operandio Advisory Board, ensuring the Nathan Profiler methodology continues to shape best-practice recruitment at scale.
With over 100 franchise customers across Australia and New Zealand, FranchiseLab is the modern digital evolution of the Nathan Profiler, the industry-standard framework for franchise recruitment developed by Greg Nathan in the early 1990s. The platform helps franchisors recruit the right franchisees through structured candidate assessment, reducing surprises later in the franchise relationship.
“FranchiseLab needed a home that could properly support the next phase of the product without changing its purpose,” said Greg. “Operandio understands franchising, and they’re committed to investing in the product properly.”
Managing Director David Rigbye said, "The acquisition brings franchise recruitment into Operandio’s broader operational ecosystem, which already supports training, compliance, communications and frontline execution for franchise and multi-unit businesses."
“Recruitment is where franchise success or failure often begins,” David continues. “By integrating FranchiseLab into Operandio, we’re giving franchisors a genuine end-to-end platform from selecting the right franchisees through to support them every day in business.”
FranchiseLab will continue to operate under its existing brand, ensuring continuity for customers. In New Zealand, the brand is represented and resold by Iridium Partners, supporting local franchisors with access to the platform and guidance on implementation.
"We've worked with Greg and FranchiseLab for a number of years and recommend it to all of our clients," said Meredith Taylor of Iridium Partners. "We're looking forward to working with Operandio to help accelerate the uptake of FranchiseLab by New Zealand franchisors."
David says that Greg's appointment to the Operandio Advisory Board provides important continuity for customers and will support the platform's ongoing evolution, further strengthening Operandio's franchise governance and strategic capability.
