Christmas cheer returns to The Coffee Club

Phoenix Anderton from Rawene Primary School with her outstanding coffee cup design

December 2025 - Continuing  a festive season tradition, KidsCan and The Coffee Club have announced the young winners of their Christmas Cup design competition

The Coffee Club and KidsCan’s annual competition has become a cherished tradition, inspiring students across New Zealand to showcase their creativity by designing the seasonal takeaway cups now available at all 65 of The Coffee Club cafés nationwide.

This year, over 300 entries from more than 30 KidsCan-supported schools flooded in. The winning artists not only enjoyed the thrill of seeing their designs come to life but also helped raise an impressive $10,000 for their schools.

The winning designs, now featured on The Coffee Club’s takeaway cups, bring extra cheer to the holiday season. These festive cups will be available in all The Coffee Club cafés until mid-January, adding to the joy of Christmas and celebrating the power of youthful creativity.

The winners!

Claiming first place is 9-year-old Phoenix Anderton from Rawene Primary School. Phoenix’s design features a festive gingerbread house, complete with Christmas trees and a snowman, all set against a backdrop of planet Earth! In addition to securing the top spot, Phoenix won a $2,000 voucher for The Warehouse. Phoenix’s design is featured on the medium takeaway cups.

In second place is 13-year-old Sakshi Rana from Randwick Park School, with her classic Santa design with a sack of presents, a snowman, and a Christmas tree! Sakshi’s design is featured on the large takeaway cups, winning her a $1,200 Westfield voucher.

Third place went to 9-year-old Emily Abraham from Glen Massey School, whose charming artwork depicts a cozy room with a fireplace and Christmas decorations. Emily’s design is featured on the small takeaway cups, and for her creativity, she received a $800 voucher for The Warehouse.

Additionally, ten students from schools across the country were awarded Highly Commended, each receiving a $200 voucher for The Warehouse for their impressive designs.
