The spirit of Christmas is back at The Coffee Club
December 2023 - KidsCan and The Coffee Club proudly unveil the young winners of this year’s Christmas Cup Artwork Competition
The Coffee Club and KidsCan's competition has become a cherished annual tradition, stimulating the creativity of students across New Zealand by challenging them to craft captivating designs for the seasonal takeaway cups used in 67 of The Coffee Club cafés nationwide.
This year, over 300 imaginative entries poured in from more than 30 KidsCan-supported schools, and the winning artists not only enjoyed the thrill of victory, but saw their pictures raise an impressive $12,000 for their schools.
The winning designs, now gracing The Coffee Club's takeaway cups, add a delightful touch to the holiday season, being available in all The Coffee Club cafes until mid-January. These festive cups not only add to the joy of Christmas but also serve as a testament to the power of youthful creativity. See pics of all three winners and their cups below.
The winners!
Claiming first place is 11-year-old Amiria Sawers from Oruaiti School in Mangonui. Her imaginative depiction of the iconic Kiwi toy Buzzy Bee dressed up as Santa not only earned her the top spot, but also a well-deserved $1,000 Westfield voucher. Amiria’s design is featured on the medium takeaway cups.
In second place, Michelle Singh (11) from Redhill Primary in Papakura has her enchanting portrayal of Santa delivering presents featured on the large takeaway cups. Michelle's artistry earned her a $600 voucher for The Warehouse.
Third place went to Leiana Edwards (10) from St Pius X School at Titahi Bay in Porirua, whose charming artwork featuring a Kiwi bird delivering Christmas gifts is featured on the small takeaway cups. For her creativity, Leiana received a $400 Westfield voucher.
Ten students from various schools across the country also received Highly Commended awards in recognition of their creativity.
