Franchise Summit moved to November

last updated 28/09/2020

June 2020 - The one-day Westpac Franchise Summit to help franchises re-focus has been postponed to November.

The Franchise Association has postponed its one-day event to help franchises refocus and plan for the future. Originally set for 15 October, concerns over potential lockdown levels during the planning period mean the event will now take place on 12 November. A back-up date in December has also been planned if required.

‘This is a long-awaited opportunity to bring the franchise community together after the massive disruption caused by the pandemic,’ says Robyn Pickerill, the Association’s CEO.

‘Sadly, we had to postpone the 2020 National Franchise Conference planned for June, but the regular conference calls we arranged for franchisors (see below) during the various levels showed the depth of knowledge among franchising people and their eagerness to discuss and share ideas with their peers. The one-day event aims to build on that experience with a mix of sessions and speakers to help franchisors and their teams reset and look forward.’

The Westpac Franchise Summit is titled Pulling Together for the Future and will be opened by Simon Power, Westpac’s GM Commercial, Corporate and Institutional. The former Minister of Commerce has a deep understanding of the issues facing franchisors and franchisees in the coming year and will share insights to help franchises respond.

There will be separate panel sessions on Franchisor Recovery & Growth, and Franchisee Recovery & Growth, with panellists sharing what has worked for them. Round Table sessions will offer opportunities for others to contribute on a variety of topics, including finding funding for franchisees.

The MC will be Jackie Clarke MNZM, vocalist, former NZ Idol judge, and guest panellist on The Project, and the day will conclude with a networking dinner and entertainment.

The Westpac Franchise Summit takes place at North Harbour Stadium, Albany, on Thursday 12th November 2020. For more information go to
