Free Seminar - improve employee management and help needy kids
18 July 2018 - A free workshop aims to help franchises improve employment practices (and avoid falling foul of labour laws) while raising funds for charity
Almost a quarter of all franchises in New Zealand contribute over $100,000 each to charities every year, so it’s good to see service providers playing their part too. Now In2HR has come up with a novel way to support Foster Hope, which provides backpacks full of essentials to children in foster care.
The HR specialists are running a valuable workshop on The importance of good employee record-keeping. With the Labour Inspectorate targeting franchises, it’s a vital topic in franchising right now. The two-hour seminar, which usually costs $209 per person, is being offered for free – with attendees asked instead to make a donation to Foster Hope.
‘We are blown away every day by all the franchises that support their local communities, so we decided to celebrate our second birthday by taking a page out of their book,’ says In2HR founder Thai Anh Cooper. ‘By running our most popular workshop for franchisees on this basis, we hope to help business owners and foster kids alike. We’ll also be giving everyone who comes some scrummy birthday cake!’
What is the workshop about?
The two-hour workshop will cover:
- Why good record-keeping is so important
- Why businesses are being fined for “poor record keeping”
- Learn what the Labour Inspectors are looking for from you as employers
- Learn about the types of employment records that you MUST keep for your employees
It will be presented by Katherine Dowler, who has an extensive HR and franchising background, and Paul Carr, who has worked with some of the biggest brands in retail, most recently at BP NZ.
What’s the catch?
‘There’s no catch,’ promises Thai Anh. ‘This workshop is our way of saying a huge thank you to the franchise community who have welcomed us and supported us throughout our first two years. It’s absolutely free – all we're asking for is your presence and donation that you feel is appropriate in support of our nominated charity. Help us to help you win over the Labour Inspectorate – all in a great cause!’
The charity workshop will be held in Auckland on 16th August. Places will be limited so register your interest here.
