Cabin franchise takes out top hire industry award

In addition to the prestigious Excellence Award in the under $2.5 million turnover section, Mizin also received a Merit Award in the Innovation & Technology category. The Awards were presented at a gala ceremony in the Banquet Hall of Parliament in August.

HIANZ is the peak body and professional membership Association for the Hire Industry in New Zealand, and has been in existence for over 42 years. Its annual awards recognise excellence in delivery and performance of hire services across a wide range of industries, from product hire to parties & events.

Mizin was founded nine years ago by Mary and Gordon Green, who believed that there was a gap in the market for a quality cabin. Today, there are 600-plus Mizin cabins being hired out around the country by 12 franchisees.

Each cabin is built on a steel base with extra thick insulation in the walls, ceiling, and floor cavity to retain heat and reduce noise. The external vinyl cladding has a 50-year life guarantee and the framing is built to housing standards. Mizin is a WINZ-approved accommodation provider and during the Covid lockdowns was considered an essential service.

With a self-propelled trailer for deliveries and pick-ups, and corner-levelling stabilisers, Mizin cabins are designed for easy transport and siting. In really difficult situations, Mizin can also be lifted into position by a Hiab or crane.
