Highmark Homes was established in the 1960's and continues to offer quality yet affordable homes. Building on this success, we are now looking for experienced candidates nationwide. Joining our brand gives you access to proven systems, central office support and our team of designers and quantity surveyors.


We believe that the Highmark Homes licence system represents an opportunity for the right people to create their own profitable business enterprise. We offer a proven system with a strong basis for generating revenue through marketing and delivering an attractive and affordable range of quality homes.

Who we are

The Highmark Homes story begins with Robert (Bob) Hunt. Bob Hunt established himself as a builder in Tauranga in the 1960s. He has extensive and valuable building, marketing and business experience totalling some 50 years - and involving more than 5,000 homes throughout New Zealand and overseas.

Highmark Homes Ltd was founded with the vision of marketing and building desirable and quality, yet affordable homes for New Zealanders. Highmark Homes has been developing property and constructing homes predominately in the Bay of Plenty region, but also other parts of New Zealand and some export markets. Along with many smaller projects, Highmark Homes has also completed a number of much larger projects for a range of customers including developers and Housing New Zealand.

Highmark Homes is now building on these successes, by establishing a network of licensees to market and construct Highmark Homes throughout New Zealand.

Skills & training

Highmark Homes is a national licence opportunity. We provide you with a proven operating system, on-going support, and extensive training programs.

Although we welcome enquiries from licensed, qualified builders, we would also like to hear those with past senior management expertise or who have previously owned their own business.

Highmark Homes is a leading brand in the affordable home market. As a licensee, you will establish a show home in your chosen territory. The show home will serve as a strong basis for marketing the wide range of Highmark Homes within your local market. 

Capital required

Highmark Homes licences are reasonably priced so our licensees will not have a burden of high debt. Starting from nothing, we are ready to help you achieve your goals. No matter how ambitious your licence development plan, we are with you. Building, technical, management and marketing assistance are always just a phone call away.


Our most important asset is our people, and we maintain a close relationship with our licencees and preferred suppliers.

Throughout the term of the licence agreement, the Highmark Homes Licence Central Office (LCO) will be able to offer licensees a broad range of support services, such as:

  • Local marketing advice
  • Administration
  • Product / system / equipment enhancements
  • Business planning
  • Benchmark analysis
