Pioneering NZ master franchise up for sale

last updated 24/01/2024

23 January 2024 – Plant-based fast food chain Lord of the Fries is looking for a new master franchisee to drive growth

Baksho and Bruce Craig

After seven years of pioneering plant-based fast food in New Zealand, Bruce and Baksho Craig have announced they are selling the master franchise for Lord of the Fries. The couple opened their first outlet of the cult Australian brand in Auckland in 2016. There are now seven stores in main centres throughout New Zealand.

Bruce and Baksho were inspired to bring Lord of the Fries to New Zealand by their passion for sustainable and ethical eating. Their mission was to introduce a plant-based fast food alternative that didn't compromise on taste, quality, or values. The brand became a trailblazer in the fast-food industry, being the first entirely plant-based chain in the country. This innovative concept was welcomed by a diverse range of customers.

The brand’s commitment to using locally sourced ingredients and maintaining high ethical standards has not only delighted taste buds but also contributed positively to environmental sustainability. ‘This journey has been about more than just food; it's been a movement towards a better future,’ says the company.

The decision to sell the master franchise is fuelled by the couple’s desire to relocate overseas to be closer to their grandchildren. The sale presents a unique opportunity for an entrepreneur or business entity that shares the same passion for plant-based cuisine and sustainable business practices. The new owner will inherit a well-established brand with a strong customer base, a proven business model, and immense growth potential.

Bruce and Baksho extend their heartfelt gratitude to their loyal customers, dedicated staff, and supportive community for being an integral part of this incredible journey. They leave the franchise with a sense of pride and accomplishment, knowing that Lord of the Fries has made a meaningful impact on the way New Zealanders view and consume fast food.

The sale is being handled by Nathan Bonney of Iridium Partners, and expressions of interest should be directed to nathan@iridium.net.nz
