A clutch of minis

Have you spotted a large group of 50 minis heading down country this week? The Pork Pie Charity run has begun!

If you missed the starting flag for the 2025 Pork Pie Charity run supporting KidsCan, it's not too late to catch up and make a difference (donate here).

The classic drive across Aotearoa in minis of all ages and stages of modification is taking place right now. Nathan Bonney, of our very own franchise-supported team, the Bonodleys, reported in yesterday that they were arriving in Hokitika. Watch the video from their wet, wet start in Friday's filthy weather and you can follow more reports from the journey on Nathan's LinkedIn profile. Nathan, co-driver Matt Woodley and their trusty 1999 Mini Cooper 'Minty' are not just idly pottering down the road from Paihia to Invercargill - they are still actively recruiting more funds to help top up their contribution to KidsCan.

KidsCan chief executive Julie Chapman said thousands of children are on their waitlist for support from the charity. “For an increasing number of families, there is nothing left at the end of the week.” The money raised will support children with breakfast, snacks, lunches, jackets, shoes, and health products.

It is proving more difficult to find funds this year, as the effects of last year's economic recession bite in, but the franchise community has remained generous in its support of this effort to help the franchisees and franchisors of the future! Joining Franchise New Zealand media on the moving billboard that Minty has become, are many icons of franchising. Our congratulations go to Columbus Coffee, Exceed and Pita Pit for taking home the prize we offered of a free week of advertising space on this website. Among others supporting the cause from the franchise sector are the Franchise Relationships Institute, Franchize Consultants, Duncan Cotterill, Inspired Accountants, Geotech Information Services, Stewart Germann Law Office, Speedy Signs, Washrite, Guthrie Bowron and Kitchen Studio. You can also make a difference - however large or small - donate here today!
