Mandy is Head of Franchise Development for Express Employment Professionals in Australia and New Zealand. With 830 franchisees throughout North America, South Africa and Australia, the company is the largest temporary staffing franchise in the world. Now it’s launching in New Zealand. ‘We just awarded our first franchise territory here, and we’re looking to award more around the country,’ says Auckland-based Mandy.

Express’s primary market is the light industrial sector, but franchisees are free to develop into other sectors to suit their local territory and connections. ‘What makes us different from other employment companies is our value proposition,’ Mandy says. ‘We shoulder all the back-end support for our franchisees, handle the invoicing and fund the temp payroll. It means franchisees don’t have to carry a huge line of credit; instead, they can focus on their sales and growing the business.’

No experience needed

Express franchisees don’t need staffing experience. ‘We have a world-class training programme supported by a full team providing coaching, mentoring, marketing, sales and compliance advice,’ Mandy explains. ‘You’ll start with a team of two staff who handle recruitment, applications and co-ordination, and then grow from there, employing salespeople and additional staff as required.

‘Established franchisees often have a team of five, and enjoy a substantial return on their initial investment of under $200,000. This not only includes training, equipment and systems, signage and a proven launch package, but also working capital for your first nine months – something many franchises don’t allow for. This can be financed and drawn down as required. We have 12 territories available in New Zealand, and there are opportunities for the right people to own multiple territories.

‘Best of all, if you sign up before 31st December, you’ll get 50 percent off your franchise fee!’

Plug and play

‘You’re literally buying into a “plug and play” package that will set you up in your own business with a world-leading franchise brand and system behind you – and right now, you have the choice of territories.

‘The employment market in New Zealand is going through a lot of changes right now, making the temp sector open to disruption. If you have the ability to talk to businesses large and small in your community and help them find the staffing solutions they need, come and talk to me and find out the facts and figures about Express Employment Professionals. I’d love to hear from you.’
