InXpress franchisees help businesses get their products to the people

The shift to online shopping during 2020 came at just the right time for InXpress. The franchise handles logistics for small and medium-sized companies, making it easy for them to send packages anywhere in the world. ‘We save our customers time, money and hassle,’ says Geoff Hargreaves.

Geoff is Franchise Development Manager for InXpress, which was founded in the UK in 1999 and now has 400 franchisees around the world – with 5 appointed in New Zealand since the beginning of 2020. ‘The timing has been perfect, but we need more people to cope with growing demand,’ Geoff says. ‘E-commerce is only going to grow further over the next 24 months, and our franchisees can offer retailers and small operators a hassle-free platform that integrates sales, payment, shipping and delivery all in one place.’

InXpress franchisees are not couriers – instead, they seek out new local clients and help them establish reliable and secure shipping services via the company’s online WebShip Plus platform. Once on board, the client just needs to log on to arrange shipments via a third-party courier company which collects the parcels and arranges customs clearance, if required. WebShip Plus also manages quotes, invoices and shipment tracking, leaving clients free to focus on growing their business.

‘Apart from the simplicity, dealing with InXpress offers clients two other major benefits,’ Geoff points out. ‘First, they get access to discounted rates from our massive international buying power with companies like DHL; second, they can talk to an actual person – their local InXpress franchisee – if they have any queries. It’s people dealing with people.’

Recurring income

InXpress offers franchisees the opportunity to build recurring income as their client base grows. ‘We’ve invested millions in our technical platforms, which means franchisees can show clients how to benefit from InXpress quickly and simply,’ explains Geoff. ‘And the back-of-house software makes it easy for franchisees to manage their own businesses.

‘I’ve worked in franchising for almost 30 years and what I like about the InXpress model is that it is driven by profitability. The royalties come from the gross margin, not sales, which means that our job is to help every franchisee be as profitable as possible. As a result, for an investment of just $29,900 +gst, an established franchisee can achieve an income of $20,000 a month – or even more!’

Geoff says franchisees need no freight, logistics or even sales experience. ‘What you need is personality, drive and enthusiasm – if you have those, we can train you in running the business. Some analytical skills and business acumen are helpful, but most of all you need to be keen to drive your own business within a proven franchise framework.
