Touch Up Guys needs new guys – and girls – to meet demand

For anybody with practical skills and an eye for detail, if you’re looking for a new direction then talk to me. That’s the invitation from Martin Smith, the NZ master franchisee for Touch Up Guys.

Touch Up Guys is a highly successful mobile business that repairs vehicles by removing bumper scuffs, stone chips, scratches and other damage. ‘Everyone is talking recession, but history shows that this is a business that performs well no matter what the economy is doing,’ says Martin. ‘Several of our franchisees have been with us for over 20 years, which says a lot for just how solid the opportunity is.’

Touch Up Guys franchisees service both trade clients such as car yards and fleet operators, and private customers. ‘When we resumed work under Level 3, the phones were soon ringing with people wanting work done – maybe they’d had time to realise just how marked their cars had got and find out about the magic we can do,’ smiles Martin. ‘Service enquiries gradually picked up almost to pre-lockdown levels, so our franchisees were busy straight away.

‘The car dealers are generally optimistic, with data indicating that customer enquiries for new and used cars is back to pre-Level 4 already, and although some commercial customers are watching their pennies, the demand is still there. After all, a vehicle – and we touch up trucks and boats as well as cars – is a big investment and it pays to look after it. So whatever happens in the wider economy, the demand for our services will continue to be strong – which means many more opportunities for new franchisees.’

No experience necessary

Touch Up Guys franchisees don’t need previous experience in repairs – just an eye for colour, attention to detail and the ability to chat to people and sell their services. As Martin explains, ‘Our specialised equipment makes it straightforward for anyone, while the latest paint colour-matching technology benefits the profitability of our franchisees. It makes the process easier, saves them time and allows them to potentially complete more jobs in a week.

‘We are looking for men and women who are enthusiastic and motivated to own and run their own business and achieve success through high quality work and excellent customer service. In return, Touch Up Guys offers you high earning potential, low overheads with a fixed franchise fee, full training, ongoing backup and support, job satisfaction and the opportunity of a lifestyle that meets your needs.’

A complete Touch Up Guys package costs between $88,000 and $120,000 +gst depending on van leasing options. ‘This includes an exclusive territory, all the equipment you need, and a three-week training course on the Gold Coast,’ Martin says.

‘We have great opportunities throughout New Zealand so call me now to find out more.’
