GARDENING FRANCHISE TAKES TO TV
WITH TWO NEW HOME SHOWS
13 October 2014 - The long-established Palmers franchise is joining the lifestyle show trend with new gardening and cooking shows on Choice TV
Not since the much-loved Maggie’s Garden Show have Kiwis had a gardening-focused television show to really get their teeth – and boots – into. So Palmers are excited to announce their sponsorship of the next generation of gardening shows, Get Growing, starting Friday 17th October at 7.30pm.
A garden and lifestyle show covering everything about creating beautiful garden spaces, it is an insider’s look into Kiwi gardens as they come alive with a colourful mix of friendly encouragement, timely advice, innovative ideas and fresh inspiration that’s right on season. Produced locally for Choice TV, it will feature special guests as well as expert advice from several key hosts: modern gardening whiz Lynda Hallinan, NZ Gardener editor Jo McCarroll, garden designer and DIY maestro Justin Newcombe, as well as a home and garden trends segment with respected journalist and TV face, Carly Flynn.
Palmers are very proud to be playing a key role in bringing the true blue Kiwi gardening show concept back to TV watchers the length and breadth of the nation, inspiring gardeners both experienced and new in the process.
In addition, Palmers has also played an active role in helping another great local TV series, come to life. With eight half-hour episodes also showing on Choice TV, Cook the Books is hosted by broadcaster, foodie and cookbook fan Carly Flynn and is a chance to meet New Zealand’s own celebrity chefs, writers and culinary stars as well as delve into a selection of the most fresh and popular cookbook releases on the market.
Filmed at Auckland’s leading cookbook specialist store, the small-but-perfectly-formed Cook the Books in suburban Grey Lynn, it also features a true chef’s garden designed and planted by a team of experts from Palmers. Once again, the iconic New Zealand gardening brand is proud to be playing a key role in raising the profile of one of the country’s most popular pastimes by helping bring it to our screens in all its full colour, seasonal glory.
