WHERE KIWIS ARE SPENDING ONLINE
September 2014 - The latest report from market analysts Datamine shows where Kiwis are spending money online. Travel & accommodation accounts for almost 50 percent of online retail.
The Online Retail Market Summary section of the Datamine report (see pdf, right), which covers the online spend of Westpac's New Zealand customer base, shows total spends and monthly/year-on-year trends across ten categories. Travel & Accommodation accounts for 49 percent of online spend, with the next largest categories being Recreation & Entertainment (19 percent) and Supermarkets/Food Retailers (9 percent).
Online spend is projected to increase by 11.07 percent in New Zealand over the next 12 months.
