Diamond Fusion - Sparkling Results

Diamond Fusion

Diamond Fusion licensees enjoy good results from treating surfaces

When builder Chris Smith installed a glass shower screen in his own home, he discovered the same problem that dozens of his clients had asked him about: how are you supposed to keep them looking clean? ‘Having put in an expensive screen ourselves, I realised there had to be a way to keep the wretched thing looking pristine - and I knew other people wanted to know, too,' Chris recalls.

‘I looked at every option but nothing worked until I discovered the Diamond Fusion process. We applied it to the shower with excellent results, then tried it on some windows as well. I was so impressed with the improvements that I decided to buy the Taupo licence and run it with my building business. There is plenty of glass here, the results are excellent and after just eight months it has been very successful both for me and my clients.'

Diamond Fusion is a unique chemical that is applied to a glass surface in order to seal it. ‘It leaves a smooth surface that is easy to clean, stays clean and gives it a much longer life,' says founder Niki Morrison. ‘After application we have tested the glass and found it has three or four times greater scratch-resistance, too. The chemical is very easy to apply, and treating the average shower cabinet only takes about 90 minutes.' The process also works for any silica-based material such as tile or porcelain.

While Chris has a building background, the Diamond Fusion licensee for the Bay of Plenty has a very different track record in large organisations and recruitment. ‘I had been looking for a business I could run on my own that involved all my people skills and experience,' explains Sandi. ‘I also wanted something flexible I could work around my family. When I came across Diamond Fusion around three years ago I realised that it was an excellent opportunity, a really first class product and a vast market. As in Taupo, there is no shortage of glass here,' she chuckles. ‘In fact, the application lends itself particularly well to coastal sites with large scenic windows. Work has built up so well that last year I took on an independent contractor. This is a measure of the demand, and also a bonus for me as I can concentrate on other things while enjoying the profits - which are excellent!'

Diamond Fusion is looking to appoint suitable licensees throughout the country. ‘We want motivated self-starters with a great deal of sparkle to them,' says Niki. ‘Marketing and business experience would be useful, but above all they should appreciate quality. $35-65,000 buys an exclusive territory, and one thing is very clear from our current operators - this is a very profitable business.'
