This is the 24th year of the Westpac New Zealand Franchise Awards, which have been measuring and recognising top performers since 1995. Winning an Award not only represents the pinnacle of achievement, but provides considerable publicity that helps build business and attract top staff or franchisees. Read our report on last year’s winners here.
Entry is open to all members of the Franchise Association. Note – the timeline has been moved forward from previous years to allow more time for judging.
For franchisors, franchisees and field managers: this is an opportunity to examine your business practices and showcase your franchise system, your individual expertise and the strength of your processes.
For service providers: this is your chance to stand out amongst your peers and demonstrate the value you bring to the franchise sector.
The awards are run in conjunction with the Business Excellence Foundation and are designed not just to recognise franchising’s highest performers, but to provide winners with valuable business and marketing advantages. The process of entering invites entrants to critique their business using key performance measures within the internationally-recognised Baldrige methodology.
Following feedback, the entry process has been streamlined this year. There is no longer a requirement to complete an Expression of Interest. If you intend to enter any award category, just complete a registration form by 1st June. Completed awards entries are due by 30th July.
This year there will be a total of 22 Awards to be won.

The Business Excellence Foundation will be running a workshop session with tips on how to prepare your entry at 2pm May 15th at Westpac in Auckland, followed by a webinar for those who are unable to make this session. Participation is free but registration is required – register for the workshop by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Awards will be presented at a celebration of franchising achievements to be held on Saturday November 11th at Alexandra Park, Ellerslie, Auckland.
